"Five helicopters from BNPB and Polri Headquarters have been deployed to Jambi for patrols and aerial spraying of forest and land fires," said Bachyuni Deliansyah, Head of the Jambi Provincial Disaster Management Agency, in Jambi on Sunday.
He stated that the assistance consists of two water-bombing helicopters and two helicopters from BNPB. One helicopter from Polri Headquarters, while the other from BNPB, is currently en route to Jambi.
The five helicopters are on standby at Sultan Thaha Airport in Jambi, with their primary task being to conduct aerial patrols and monitoring to identify fire hotspots that are difficult to reach by land.
Currently, the peatland area in Gambut Jaya Village, Sungai Gelam Sub-district, Muaro Jambi District is severely burned.
