Director General of Early Childhood, Primary, and Secondary Education at the ministry, Gogot Suharwoto, explained that renovation of the rooms is crucial to support several strategic programs of President Prabowo Subianto.
Suharwoto explained in Jakarta on Monday that ensuring the availability of adequate medical rooms is vital as the government's CKG program will soon be implemented in schools.
"We are tasked with ensuring children are assisted with education on nutrition, healthy lifestyles, and child health development," he remarked.
Besides medical room renovations, the ministry has prioritized renovating toilets within the school revitalization program to promote a clean and healthy lifestyle among students.
"Based on the president's directive during the 2024 National Teachers' Day, no schools should be without toilets," he remarked.
Earlier, during the National Education Day commemoration on May 2, President Prabowo Subianto, along with the Minister of Primary and Secondary Education, Abdul Mu'ti, launched four quick win programs for the education sector.
Those four programs are the construction and renovation of 10,440 schools, the digitalization of education through the distribution of smart boards, the provision of tuition assistance for teachers, and the provision of assistance for contract-based teachers.
Regarding the school renovation program, Minister Mu'ti emphasized that in 2025, the revitalization of schools is carried out through self-managed mechanisms by the schools themselves, supported by strengthened governance and community participation.
The CKG program, launched on February 10, 2025, is targeted to cover 281 million Indonesians of all age groups, from infants to older adults.
