Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Canoe Slalom Rowing Team bagged three gold medals and one bronze at the Southeast Asia Canoe Slalom Championship held in Rayong, Pattaya, Thailand, on July 26-27.

The competition, which served as preparation for the 2025 SEA Games, featured 33 athletes from Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Thailand.

The Red and White team sent a total of six athletes, comprising two men and four women, to this event.

“Training facilities and infrastructure at home remain insufficient. We hope the athletes continue to train with high spirits despite these limitations,” Indonesian team manager Muhammad Assyidiq noted in an official statement received here on Thursday.

"A tough task awaits, which is the 2025 SEA Games, the 2026 Asian Games, and the 2028 Olympic qualification," he stated.

At this event, Indonesia’s three gold medals came from the men's and women's single kayak slalom (MK1 and WK1), with Krisna Septiana scoring 85.69 and Angrum Sofia, 106.98.

The other gold was secured in the women's canoe slalom (WC1) by Putu Santhi with a score of 105.98.

Meanwhile, one bronze medal was won in the men's canoe slalom (MC1) by Sutanto Ade Yoan with a score of 101.01.

Septiana admitted to having only prepared for two days ahead of the competition.

“However, we did not give up and immediately adapted to understand the challenges at each gate, which differ from one another, while we also had to adjust to using the host country Thailand's boat, which is different from the one we use for daily training," he revealed.
