"In today's era of global competition, MSME actors must be able to adapt and keep up with the times," he remarked during the 2025 Karawang MSME Gathering event held in Karawang, West Java, on Thursday.
He observed that in the current landscape, capital and enthusiasm alone are insufficient. MSME players also need to be equipped with knowledge and skills that are aligned with current developments.
He stressed that collaboration among MSMEs, local governments, and the private sector is crucial for creating a strong and competitive local economy.
To this end, he expressed hope that more private sector players would engage in mentoring and supporting MSMEs to help grow their businesses.
He noted that Karawang, as one of West Java's economic growth centers, holds vast potential in MSME development, with enterprises spread across all sub-districts.
In line with this potential, the Karawang district government is committed to supporting MSME development, allocating around Rp12 billion for MSME assistance programs this year.
According to the Karawang Office of Cooperatives and MSMEs, the allocated budget will support 2,500 MSME players across the district.
The assistance provided will not be in the form of cash, but instead will include goods such as carts, packaging machines, sewing machines, culinary equipment, and digital technology tools.
Regarding the 2025 Karawang MSME Gathering, he expressed appreciation, saying that the event serves as a forum for networking and collaboration among MSMEs, with the goal of strengthening a resilient and adaptive entrepreneurship ecosystem.
