Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Manpower Yassierli emphasized that human resource training is crucial to support the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) priority program.

"The Ministry of Manpower is committed to supporting the MBG because it has the potential to absorb a significant workforce. The training program opened today is tailored to the needs of the applicants," Yassierli said, as quoted in a statement received here on Thursday.

The Ministry of Manpower has launched Competency-Based Training (PBK) and a Tailor-Made Training (TMT) program in East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), aiming to develop workers with nutrition-related skills.

Yassierli highlighted that various facilities at the Vocational and Productivity Training Center (BPVP), such as the one in East Lombok, can be optimized and function as education centers for human resources in the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG).

"The Ministry of Manpower has facilities at the centers that can support the training and certification of the personnel involved. We are confident that the MBG will be successful if supported by personnel who possess standardized competencies," he remarked.

Furthermore, the training launch follows a memorandum of understanding on Synergy of Employment Programs in Fulfilling National Nutrition, signed by Yassierli and Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, on April 14, 2025.

"MBG not only addresses the challenge of fulfilling nutritional needs but is also capable of absorbing up to 1.5 million workers across Indonesia, both directly and indirectly," he stated.

On the same occasion, he also witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Lombok BPVP and three MBG partners in the sub-districts of Selong, Suralaga, and Pringgasela.

Agung Nur Rohmad, Director General of Vocational Training and Productivity Development at the Ministry of Manpower, reported a total of 256 PBK participants across 16 training program packages at the East Lombok BPVP, including 122 PBK participants and 144 TMT participants.

Nine collaborative training programs supporting the MBG program include Fish and Seafood Processing, Various Soup Making, and Poultry Dishes Processing.

Additionally, seven other training programs in the tourism sector include Coffee Beverage Mixing, Commercial Food Processing, Pastry and Cake Product Preparation, Front Office Services, Restaurant Attendant Services, and Room Cleaning Services.
