“The housing KUR is ready. Our regulation is finalized. So, whenever we are called by the Coordinating Minister, we’re ready. Whenever a meeting is held, we are prepared. I thank the PKP Ministry team for working hard to draft this regulation,” he said in Jakarta on Friday.
He added that the Ministry of Housing is prepared to synchronize the regulation with the Ministry of Finance and the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs.
The PKP Ministry, along with its partners, will launch a public outreach campaign to inform stakeholders about the implementation of the housing KUR program.
According to Sirait, the government will prioritize involving local businesses in the development of subsidized housing.
“This housing KUR program will have a significant positive impact on communities and regional economies,” he said.
He also reported to President Prabowo Subianto on the readiness of the Housing KUR program, which will be implemented for the first time in Indonesia.
He said that the program will target both the supply and demand sides.
On the supply side, the KUR program will cover housing developers and contractors, offering easier and more affordable access to financing.
On the demand side, the credit facility can be used to fund homestay businesses in tourism destinations such as Bali, North Sulawesi, West Nusa Tenggara, and North Sumatra.
He noted that the implementation of the housing KUR program has received support from several stakeholders, including Danantara and several state-owned enterprises, and is being coordinated by Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, and Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani Indrawati.
