Tangerang, Banten (ANTARA) - The State Logistics Agency (Bulog) has announced a target to distribute rice aid to 18.3 million beneficiaries across Indonesia this year.

The aid includes 10-kilogram bags of rice and rice from the Stabilization of Food Supply and Prices (SPHP) program.

Speaking in Tangerang, Banten, on Saturday, Bulog's President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani stated that the government has assigned Bulog to distribute 1.3 million tons of rice under the SPHP program.

Bulog is collaborating with the Indonesian Military (TNI), National Police (Polri), and Red and White cooperative units to distribute the SPHP rice.

This initiative is part of a government effort to mitigate rising food prices and ensure that targeted households can access affordable rice.

The maximum price for SPHP rice is set at Rp12,500 per kilogram or Rp62,500 per five kilograms.

The program aims to address both price fluctuations and rice shortages in the market.

To prevent the recurrence of subsidized SPHP rice embezzlement, Ramdhani called on TNI and Polri personnel to step up their surveillance measures.
