The program, which emphasizes technological development, was launched at the Vocational and Productivity Training Center (BBPVP) in Serang City, Banten, on Monday.
On that occasion, Minister Yassierli explained that the PBL program is designed to create a link and match between the competencies taught and the real needs of today’s industrial sector.
“This training responds to the challenges of technological advancement. We want to ensure a match between training and industry needs, which is why we designed it using project-based learning,” he remarked.
Yassierli noted that the program marks an initial stage of PBL training that will undergo ongoing evaluation. He further stated that in the future, the Manpower Ministry intends to connect PBL program graduates with internship programs at relevant companies.
“We are trying it out first, and we will evaluate it. Step-by-step, we will connect it with internship programs,” he explained.
The minister expressed optimism that the PBL training model will serve as an effective solution to increase worker absorption in Indonesia. He noted that the program is gaining popularity among members of the young generation to improve their competencies.
“We are quite optimistic that Project-Based Learning will serve as one of the solutions to increase employment absorption in Indonesia,” he affirmed.
The PBL program is being conducted simultaneously at 21 Central Technical Implementation Units (UPTP) and eight service units under UPTP across Indonesia, targeting to reach 20 thousand participants by 2025.
