Jakarta (ANTARA) - The implementation of the Free Health Checks (CKG) program in schools is part of the government’s effort to establish a foundation for producing a generation of quality talents, according to the Presidential Communication Office (PCO).

“CKG is one of the government’s ways to build and prepare a golden generation,” PCO Deputy for Information Coordination and Evaluation Fritz Edward Siregar stated during the program’s launch at the Public Islamic Elementary School (MIN) 8 of Jakarta in South Jakarta on Monday.

He noted that the program, which opened to the general public on February 10, 2025, is one of the quick-win initiatives introduced by President Prabowo Subianto.

“This medical program will continue. While we began this initiative at community health centers earlier this year, we have now expanded its reach nationwide, including to students at elementary, junior high, and senior high school levels,” Siregar remarked.

At the same event, Presidential Chief of Staff Lieutenant General (ret.) Anto Mukti Putranto highlighted the role of parents in the program, saying they can encourage their children to make the most of the free health check-ups.

“It is important to communicate the significance of health exams to parents, so they are motivated to bring their children to access the program,” he remarked.

The government launched the program’s expansion to schoolchildren on Monday, starting in 12 schools, including MIN 8, where 617 students were offered 13 types of screenings, including for tuberculosis; ear, eye, dental, and reproductive health; hepatitis B; blood pressure and sugar levels; and nutrition.

As of July 30, 2025, the CKG program has reached over 15 million residents nationwide, with a target of catering to 60 million beneficiaries by the end of this year, including through its implementation in 282 thousand schools.
