“We hope no airdrop. We hope (the border gate for) aid distribution will be opened soon. We understand that air airdrop has many risks,” the minister explained after receiving Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov at the ministry’s office here on Tuesday.
He said that airdropping aid could endanger Palestinians in Gaza who are in urgent need of the assistance. “The process also has many technical matters that must be addressed,” he added.
Hence, the minister urged Israel to open unrestricted humanitarian aid access to Gaza immediately and not use hunger as a weapon of war, saying it would bring nothing but further misery for civilians.
“Children and babies become the victims—and their images seen everywhere will perturb anyone with humanity in their heart,” he added.
Indonesia has promised 10 thousand tons of rice aid for Palestine to help address its humanitarian crisis, Sugiono said.

The aid is being prepared and will be delivered soon, he added.
While speaking at a rally for the Palestinian cause at Jakarta’s National Monument (Monas) on August 3, 2025, the foreign minister said that the aid is a form of tangible support from Indonesia for the struggling Palestinian people.
He said the aid is “mandated by the Constitution and (part of) the national commitment.”
Indonesia has distributed over 4,400 tons of logistics and provided hundreds of billions of rupiahs in humanitarian assistance to Gaza, according to the minister.
Some countries have resumed dropping aid to the Gaza Strip since last week. On August 1, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan led a multi-national humanitarian assistance airdrop using French, German, Italian, and Spanish aircraft.
The airdrop came after Canada announced on Monday that it had air-dropped 10 tons of aid for Gazans.
