Hanggodo emphasized the importance of maintaining continuous cooperation between the two ministries to support efforts to maintain the integrity and resilience of the nation through infrastructure development.
“The PU Ministry is committed to continuously strengthening collaboration in infrastructure development, which is not only crucial for national defense but also has a direct impact on the community, particularly in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) regions and disaster-prone areas,” he said in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He also announced that the PU Ministry has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) regarding support for infrastructure development in various strategic areas.
The collaboration covers several important sectors, ranging from water resource management, road construction, drinking water supply and sanitation systems, building planning, state residence management, to human resource development.
The synergy between the Public Works Ministry and the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) is also a part of the implementation of President Prabowo Subianto’s grand Asta Cita vision, and supports the implementation of the strategic program PU608.
The focus of infrastructure development for the 2025–2029 period will be supporting the national economy by bringing the Incremental Capital Output Ratio (ICOR) below 6, eradicating poverty, and achieving annual economic growth of 8 percent.
Minister Hanggodo met with Minister Sjamsoeddin at the Ministry of Defense’s office in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The meeting was a follow-up to President Prabowo’s directive on strengthening cross-ministerial synergy to support the development of strategic national defense infrastructure.
Such cross-sectoral collaboration is key for building an Indonesia that is more resilient in terms of infrastructure, sovereign in terms of defense, and inclusive in terms of economic growth.
