In his remarks at the Delivery of Report of Audit Results on the Central Government Financial Report for Fiscal Year 2023 on Monday, Jokowi believes that Prabowo would pay serious attention to every BPK recommendation so that the state money can be utilized optimally and managed in a transparent and accountable manner.
"We do not want leaks. We do not want the people's money. We must secure every rupiah for the benefit of the nation and our people," Prabowo remarked while visiting the Presidential Palace on Monday.
During his first visit to the Presidential Palace after recovering from surgery, Prabowo echoed Jokowi's belief in the transparent management of the State Budget by the BPK under his administration.
He also viewed BPK as an important institution that is expected to become more strict in supervising the use of the state budget and regional budget.
"BPK is a very important institution. BPK is our mainstay. In the future, BPK must supervise it more closely," the minister emphasized.
On the previous occasion, the president expressed belief that Prabowo, who will be running the next government, would pay serious attention to every recommendation offered by BPK regarding the management of state money.
"We believe that the future government will always pay serious attention to every BPK recommendation. The people's money must be used well and managed transparently and in an accountable manner," Jokowi stated.
In his remarks, the president also reminded about the transition from his administration to the next government with elected President and Vice President Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
"We are currently in an era of government transition. In October 2024, I will be replaced by President-elect Prabowo Subianto," he stated.
Jokowi also hopes for the support of the BPK and all components of the nation in this government transition to run optimally and maintain sustainability to bring progress to the country.
