Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) expressed hope that the Indonesian State Audit Board (BPK) would support the transition to a new government led by President-elect Prabowo Subianto and Vice President-elect Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

"I am hoping for support from the BPK and all components of the nation so that the government transition can run well," he stated at the Delivery of Report of Audit Results on the Central Government Financial Report for Fiscal Year 2023 here on Monday.

President Jokowi added that the support is needed to maintain Indonesia's progress.

The head of state is also optimistic of receiving BPK's support to continue improvements in the government ecosystem and build a government system that is accountable, flexible, and result-oriented.

He expressed optimism that the current and future governments would always pay serious attention to BPK's recommendations so that the state money can be utilized well and managed in a transparent and accountable manner.

"I want ministers, agency heads, and regional governments to immediately follow up and complete the recommendations from the BPK's audits so that the financial management, the state budget, and regional budget can get better day by day," he remarked.

The BPK has given an unqualified opinion for the Central Government Financial Report (LKPP) for Fiscal Year 2023 and the Summary of Audit Report for Semester II of 2023.

The opinion is the eighth unqualified opinion received by the LKPP since it obtained the first unqualified opinion in 2016.

"The results of the BPK audits on the 2023 LKPP show an unqualified opinion," BPK Head Isma Yatun stated at Monday's event.

The LKPP 2023 is the reporting on the 2023 state budget that comprises one State General Treasurer Financial Report (LKBUN) and 84 Financial Reports of Ministries and Agencies (LKKL).

The issuance of opinion from the BPK is said to have met the standards that ensure the audits were conducted in accordance with the basic values of integrity, independence, and professionalism of the BPK.
