The inauguration was held at the Nutrition Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) at the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base Complex in Jakarta on Wednesday.
Harjono explained that the total includes 10 kitchens already operational, 26 kitchens fully built and ready to operate, and 18 kitchens under construction.
"In the next two months, 54 kitchens will be ready to support this free nutritious lunch program," he stated at a press conference.
According to Harjono, 10 operational SPPG kitchens belonging to the Indonesian TNI AU have currently served 32,328 people. The additional kitchens will also increase the number of recipients.
"It will certainly increase our target. The Air Force can meet the target set by the National Food Security Agency (BGN) of 500 kitchens spread across Indonesia. Moreover, we will activate those in the 3T (frontier and outermost) areas," he remarked.
Meanwhile, BGN Head Hindayana drew attention to three key factors in implementing the MBG program: budget, human resources (HR), and infrastructure. Currently, the budget for the MBG has been finalized by President Prabowo Subianto.
He also noted that 33 thousand human resources have been prepared for the MBG program. Of that figure, the TNI AU is also participating in training human resources for the MBG program.
"This infrastructure development was part of the efforts led by TNI AU. Thank God, the Indonesian Air Force has been involved since January 6," he remarked.
He also expressed appreciation for the Indonesian Air Force, noting that the MBG kitchens have been built to above-average standards.
Hindayana expressed confidence that the TNI AU MBG kitchens maintain high hygiene standards. "They are safe in terms of food safety, and the beneficiaries will be very happy," he remarked.
