The rehearsal for the flag-hoisting and flag-lowering ceremonies to mark the 80th Independence Day anniversary on August 17, 2025, began at 8 a.m. local time in the courtyard of the palace.
Heavy rain poured over the palace grounds during the rehearsal.
But the inclement weather did not stop the Paskibraka members, drawn from the country’s 38 provinces, from carrying out their marching drills neatly, and the rehearsal proceeded smoothly without disruption.
The flag bearers and hoisting officers remained focused on their task, practicing with a yellow-and-green flag.
As per the schedule, President Prabowo Subianto will officially inaugurate the 76 members of the Paskibraka on Wednesday (August 13, 2025).
Out of them, the names of three flag tray carriers and flag raisers will be announced on Sunday.
On Monday, the Paskibraka members completed their final joint rehearsal before transferring to Jakarta on Monday night.
The joint rehearsal included full coordination with the Presidential Security Force (Paspampres), military and police units, and the musical unit or the marching band. During the rehearsal, the Paskibraka members wore formal ceremonial uniforms.
The training environment was designed to closely resemble the venue of the ceremony at Merdeka Palace to ensure solidity and precision in execution.
