Jakarta (ANTARA) - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati announced that the central government has allocated Rp1,333 trillion, or around US$83.98 billion, from the 2025 State Budget (APBN) for low-income and underprivileged communities.

"The central government budget that directly benefits the public, especially the lower-income group, reaches Rp1,333 trillion for this year," Indrawati stated during the National Seminar on Sharia Economics: Reflection on Indonesia’s Independence Day 2025 here on Wednesday.

The minister explained that the funds are channeled through various programs, including the Family Hope Program (PKH), staple food assistance, financing access for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), the provision of healthcare and education services, and support for food and energy security.

She also noted that central government spending directly benefiting the public will increase further next year.

“In two days, President Prabowo Subianto will announce the budget for next year, and the figure will be even bigger,” she noted.

For reference, state expenditure realization as of the first half of 2025 reached Rp1,407.1 trillion, equal to 38.8 percent of the 2025 APBN target.

The realization comprises Rp1,006.5 trillion in central government spending and Rp400.6 trillion in transfers to regions.

State expenditure grew by 0.6 percent year-on-year, she remarked. According to the minister, this reflects the government’s efforts to implement countercyclical policies amid global and regional uncertainties.

Spending is focused on achieving development targets in education and health, as well as strengthening regional economies through programs such as the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) and the empowerment of villages and MSMEs.

In addition, government spending is directed toward national priority programs, including enhancing food and energy security.
