Speaking at the 2025 Annual Session of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) in Jakarta on Friday, he expressed optimism that the DTSEN would guide the government in directing social aid only to those who truly deserve it.
"For the first time in history, the Republic of Indonesia has a system called the National Socioeconomic Single Data, or DTSEN, which serves as our guideline to ensure the accuracy of programs dedicated to the poor," Prabowo said.
He stressed that the DTSEN is intended to prevent cases where wealthy citizens access subsidized goods and services meant for the underprivileged.
The president noted that the integrated data system had already guided the implementation of several priority programs, most notably Sekolah Rakyat (People's School), a strategic initiative to provide free, quality education to children from economically disadvantaged families.
"We provide these children with quality educational services in boarding schools, complete with dormitories," Prabowo stated.
Describing the program as a way to break the cycle of poverty, he said, "Children from poor families should not inherit poverty from their parents. This is the very goal we are striving for."
He added that the government had opened 100 Sekolah Rakyat sites nationwide, with the number projected to reach 200 next year and 300 by 2027.
Separately, Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf said the use of the DTSEN had resulted in about two million citizens being removed from the list of social aid recipients in the second quarter of 2025.
"As for the third quarter, we are still reviewing the data and will make the results public," he told reporters after the session.
The minister emphasized that the government would update the data every three months, with the portion of aid previously allocated to delisted recipients redirected to those genuinely in need.
