He conveyed his remarks during a State Address before members of parliament at the Annual Session of the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and Regional Representatives Council (DPD) in Jakarta on Friday.
Prabowo noted that since last year, the MK has handled hundreds of constitutional cases, including disputes over the results of national and regional elections. He commended the court for managing these cases effectively and in a timely manner.
The two sessions — held every August 15 ahead of Indonesia’s Independence Day — were attended by more than 600 members of parliament, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, cabinet ministers, deputy ministers, several former presidents and vice presidents, political and public figures, as well as foreign diplomats.
In addition to his state address, Prabowo also delivered a speech outlining his administration’s performance over the past year.
