The Garuda Prabayaksa carriage, built in Sleman, Yogyakarta, for the milestone celebration, was featured in a live broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat. The name combines the words praba and yaksa, meaning "great light".
Riding aboard the carriage were two retired flag-bearers of the 2024 Pancasila Ambassador -- Kirana Asyawidya Baskara from Banten, who carried the national flag, and Ni Komang Trisetya from Bali, who bore the proclamation text.
They led the formal procession ahead of the official Independence Day commemoration at the Merdeka Palace, Central Jakarta.
The parade also included 145 cavalry troops, 45 motorized personnel from the Presidential Security Detail (Paspampres), and 15 female soldiers from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), some riding electric vehicles.
Troops in traditional royal attire representing regional military commands across Indonesia highlighted the country’s rich cultural heritage and the legacy of its historical kingdoms.
