The Jupiter Aerobatic Team (JAT), flying around 20 aircraft—including F-16 Falcons, T-50i Golden Eagles, and Hawk jets—took part in the show, with the highlight being a flyover above the Merdeka Palace, the official site of the Independence Day ceremony.
From the cockpits, JAT pilots saluted President Prabowo Subianto and extended birthday greetings to the nation on its 80th year of independence.
Eight KT-1B aircraft followed with a low-altitude flyby over the Palace, releasing red-and-white smoke to symbolize the Indonesian flag.

The display continued with an arrow-shaped formation, again leaving red-and-white trails across the Jakarta sky. The T-50i Golden Eagles contributed to the spectacle with sweeping maneuvers in multiple directions, while a formation of F-16 Falcons closed the show with a series of flybys honoring the Head of State.
Earlier in the morning, the National Flag Hoisting Ceremony at the Merdeka Palace was held solemnly, officially commemorating the 80th Proclamation of Indonesian Independence.
The flag ceremony was led by President Prabowo Subianto, marking his debut in this role.
This year’s Independence Day theme, “United and Sovereign, Prosperous People, and Advanced Indonesia,” reflects the enduring spirit of nationalism as a foundation for progress.
A variety of events also enlivened the occasion, including the Red and White Flag Parade, the Proclamation Text reading, the People’s Carnival, and the Independence Carnival.
