"Of course, we need collaboration to ensure implementation readiness, including the availability of the materials needed to build the gas pipeline networks," Laode Sulaeman, Director of Planning and Development of Oil and Gas Infrastructure at the ministry, stated in a written statement received here on Tuesday.
To ensure the smooth running of the construction project, the Directorate of Oil and Gas Infrastructure Planning and Development of the Directorate General of Oil and Gas at the ministry held a socialization forum to discuss material readiness with representatives of the pipe and metering supplier and manufacturer associations.
Sulaeman further stated that the socialization forum was crucial for providing information about the government's program to increase the use of natural gas, particularly for households.
According to him, the program represents a concrete manifestation of the government's commitment to energy diversification through the development of clean energy.
He stated that national natural gas production is substantial and must be utilized optimally for domestic use and to improve the welfare of communities throughout Indonesia.
Regarding material readiness, Sub-Coordinator for Construction Project Implementation Risris Risdianto outlined general requirements that must be met, including prioritizing local content (TKDN). The minimum TKDN requirement for carbon steel pipes is 40 percent, PE pipes 20 percent, and galvanized pipes 40 percent.
Furthermore, materials must comply with material specifications and data sheets, with safety as a priority.
Meanwhile, Development Planning Coordinator Sugiarto emphasized to participants the importance of paying attention to factors such as raw material availability, production capacity and timeline, and on-site delivery time.
"The availability of raw materials, whether they need to be imported, the required TKDN, and delivery time are all crucial for the success of this program. You can inform us before the next stage (procurement)," he said.
