Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, during a state visit to the Republic of Korea, strengthened diplomacy in the cultural and rapidly growing creative industry sectors through the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation High-Level Dialogue on Cultural and Creative Industries (APEC HLD-CCI) forum.

"I express my deepest appreciation for the full support of the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul in ensuring the success of Indonesia's participation in the APEC HLD-CCI and encouraging synergy with the Ministry of Culture, including promoting Indonesia in Korea and exploring sustainable partnerships," Minister of Culture Fadli stated in a press statement in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The Minister of Culture was welcomed by Indonesian Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, Cecep Herawan, accompanied by Education and Culture Attaché, Amaliah Fitriah, and diplomats from the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul for a luncheon.

During the meeting, Minister Zon and officials from the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul discussed various concrete steps to support Indonesian cultural diplomacy, strengthen networks with the diaspora community, and explore opportunities for strategic cooperation in the cultural and creative industry sectors with Korea.

The meeting marked a crucial moment in strengthening synergy between the Ministry of Culture and Indonesian missions abroad.

Furthermore, Minister Zon emphasized the importance of continued synergy between the Ministry of Culture and the Indonesian Embassy in Seoul in developing cultural diplomacy that is not merely ceremonial, but also has a strategic impact on the growth of the national creative industry and the strengthening of Indonesia's cultural identity globally.

The state visit is part of the Ministry of Culture's efforts to enhance the presence of Indonesian culture on the international stage and build inclusive and sustainable partnerships amidst global dynamics.

During his working visit to Seoul, Minister Zon was accompanied by Director General of Diplomacy, Promotion, and Cultural Cooperation, Endah Tjahjani Dwirini Retno Astuti, and the Minister's Expert Staff for Economic Affairs and Industry, Anindita Kusuma.
