The parade will commemorate the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
"President Xi Jinping invited 26 heads of state and government to attend the commemoration, they are ... Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto," Assistant Foreign Minister Hong Lei said at a press conference here on Thursday.
Besides Prabowo, other national leaders invited for the military parade include Russian President Vladimir Putin, North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, and others.

China also invited leaders of international organisations, former national leaders, and foreign ambassadors for the Victory Day Parade.
China has also “specifically invited foreign friends who contributed to the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression,” Hong said.
About 50 individuals and their families from 14 countries — including Russia, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and Canada — will attend.
The Chinese official said that the military parade will commemorate history, pay respect to fallen heroes, and promote peace and a better future.

"The Chinese people will stand with the people throughout the world to firmly uphold the result of the World War II victory, preserve the United Nations-based international system and international law-based world order," Hong remarked.
The parade will feature new-generation military assets — including fourth-generation tanks, advanced fighter jets, unmanned intelligent equipment, and hypersonic anti-ship missiles — unveiled publicly for the first time. All four service branches of the People’s Liberation Army (PLA), along with its specialised forces, will participate.
