“As of this morning, starting at 05.00 a.m., all Transjakarta routes are operating and serving as normal,” Head of Public Relations and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Department of Transjakarta Ayu Wardhani said here on Monday.
She also noted that the night bus services had run well again since Sunday (August 31) night.
Earlier, several Transjakarta routes were disrupted following last week’s protests in several locations in Jakarta, including outside the Parliamentary Complex.
In this regard, PT Transjakarta continues to monitor the situation, which can change quickly, so as to take the appropriate steps immediately when needed.
Following the protests, several bus stations, including Bendungan Hilir Bus Station, Kwitang Bus Station, and Cililitan Bus Station, were damaged.
Furthermore, seven bus stations were set on fire by unidentified individuals during the unrest in Jakarta from Friday (August 29) to Saturday (August 30).
Renovation of several facilities with light damages has been started on Monday, while those with moderate and severe damages are set to be renovated starting from Wednesday (September 3) and Monday (September 8), respectively.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung on Monday announced that the total losses due to infrastructure damage following protests in several locations in Jakarta reached Rp55 billion (approximately US$3.3 million).
