"Patrols involving Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), Polri and TNI are ongoing," South Jakarta Mayor, Muhammad Anwar, said during "Jaga Jakarta" declaration at South Jakarta Mayor's Office, Monday.
Anwar emphasized the importance of collaboration between relevant elements to ensure greater oversight to public facilities, especially in South area.
"Our territory was vast, so we must ask for helping from mass organizations and religious leaders to jointly safeguard our neighborhoods," he said.
In this way, it was hoped the community will also have the awareness to jointly maintain the public facilities.
"We monitor closely to prevent irresponsible individuals from damaging or committing anarchic acts in South Jakarta," he said.
It was known that irresponsible individuals burned Transjakarta bus stop at Metro Jaya Police Headquarters during demonstration on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, South Jakarta, on Friday evening.
They also damaged the entrance of Istora Mandiri MRT Station.
Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno stated that Jakarta Provincial Government would immediately repair them and make Transjakarta and MRT services free for a week.
