"There are currently 20 children still being treated in hospitals. That is a nationwide figure from the recent protest incidents. None of them are in Jakarta," KPAI Commissioner Diyah Puspitarini informed here on Wednesday.
She stated that among the dozens of students who became victims of violence during the protests, one student has died, Andika Lutfi Falah (16), an 11th-grade student from public vocational high school SMK Negeri 14 in Tangerang District, Banten.
"We do not yet have complete data on child victims of violence, but we do know that one has passed away," she said.

Based on data gathered on August 25 and 28, Puspitarini revealed that more than 700 students from junior and senior high schools were involved in the demonstrations across several regions and have been handled by KPAI.
She cited data from the Greater Jakarta (Metro Jaya) Police, which recorded 196 children detained on August 25 and another 190 during the protest on August 28.
These children, aged between 12 and 17 years old, came from Jakarta, Tangerang, and Bekasi (West Java).
"Some children could not be recorded in the data, so the actual number may be in the thousands," she said.
She noted that most of the children detained by police have been returned to their parents. However, seven students remain in custody at the North Jakarta Police Station due to their involvement in the riots.
"We are asking for (the students' release), as it has already exceeded the 3x24-hour limit," Puspitarini added.
