Based on data compiled by the ministry, 105 children were involved in demonstrations in Jakarta on August 25, 2025.
On August 28, one child participated in a protest in Makassar, 39 in Bali, and around 110 in the second wave of demonstrations in Jakarta. On August 29, at least 23 children joined protests in Semarang, 25 in Yogyakarta, and 56 in Surabaya.
"In addition, the involvement of children in several other regions, such as Solo, Kediri, Cirebon, Bandung, West Nusa Tenggara, and Palembang, has not yet been identified," Minister Arifatul Choiri Fauzi said.
The ministry continues to coordinate with Regional Technical Implementation Units for Women and Child Protection (UPTD PPA) to ensure appropriate assistance for children involved in protests.
A series of demonstrations across several provinces from August 25 to 31, 2025, claimed 10 lives, including one child.
The child victim, identified by the initials ALF, a 16-year-old student from Tigaraksa, Tangerang District, Banten, died on Monday, September 1, after being treated at Dr. Mintohardjo Hospital in Jakarta since Friday, August 29, following a coma.
ALF was reportedly involved in a protest near the DPR/MPR complex on Thursday, August 28, which ended in unrest.
Meanwhile, 20 other children were injured during clashes in various regions. They are currently receiving intensive care in hospitals.
