To follow up on the initiative, Acting Head of the NTB Manpower and Transmigration Office Baiq Nelly Yuniarti met with employment placement firm PT Wira Karitas, according to an official statement issued in Mataram on Saturday.
Yuniarti emphasized that the meeting was not only about collaboration, but also about securing a future for thousands of NTB youths.
The opportunity was first raised by Indonesian Ambassador to the UAE Husin Bagis, who noted that the Middle East country requires around 3,000 new workers annually.
Hospitality roles such as baristas, waiters, cleaners, and laundry staff are in high demand.
“Our vocational and university graduates have strong potential—especially those proficient in English,” Yuniarti said.
She affirmed the province’s commitment to pursuing overseas placements while prioritizing both the skills and safety of prospective migrant workers.
“The real question is whether NTB youths can seize this opportunity and prove themselves on the international stage,” she added.
PT Wira Karitas Director Maria Ginting noted that candidates would be exempt from recruitment and placement fees.
In addition, workers would receive free housing, transportation, job training, and a monthly allowance.
“Contracts in the UAE will last two years and may be extended. Workers will also be covered by insurance,” Ginting said.
She added that Ambassador Bagis had recommended partnering with ADNH Catering, a UAE state-owned company currently assessing labor demand from NTB.
