The instructions were delivered during a visit by Minister Yusuf to the President’s private residence in Hambalang, West Java.
“Alhamdulillah, today I, along with the core team from the Ministry of Social Affairs, had the opportunity to present a detailed report on the implementation of Sekolah Rakyat, including the recent progress and the challenges faced during its process,” said Minister Yusuf in a statement here on Sunday.
“The President gave several key directives to ensure that future planning is more comprehensive,” he added.
Yusuf also conveyed that the President expressed appreciation to all parties who have supported the pilot implementation of Sekolah Rakyat this year.
The Minister reaffirmed his commitment to officially launch the program once all technical and institutional aspects are fully prepared.
In the same statement, Prof. Mohammad Nuh, Head of the Sekolah Rakyat Formulation Team, emphasized that the program has now entered the stage of actual implementation.
“Previously, we were still in the stage of formulating ideas and concepts but now is the actual implementation execution. We’ve seen the Ministry of Social Affairs team and its partnership go all out to successfully implement this,” said Nuh.
He underscored the importance of applying three key principles in the implementation of Sekolah Rakyat.
The first principle is that the program must be measurable, meaning it should have clear success indicators that can be systematically evaluated. With proper metrics, the effectiveness of the program can be assessed objectively and sustainability, keeping it aligned with its original mission.
The second principle is accessibility, where the program planning must be realistic, ensuring that it reaches the broader population, particularly the most vulnerable communities.
Third is accountability, which emphasizes that every outcome of the program must be transparently evaluated and reported to the public as a form of responsibility for the use of resources and the achievement of established targets.
Nuh added that key performance indicators of success are expected to begin to emerge within the next three months or during the first academic semester, and will be publicly disclosed.
“The Ministry of Social Affairs is fully committed to ensuring that Sekolah Rakyat operates effectively and remains accountable to the public,” he stated.
