“We are currently working with the Ministry of Social Affairs to strengthen programs at the People's School, particularly at the senior high school level, by offering creative economy training,” Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya said at a press conference after a ministerial-level meeting in Jakarta on Tuesday.
According to him, the training aims to equip students with creative economy skills that will enable them to work or start their own businesses after graduating from People's School.
The initiative is part of the government’s broader effort to empower communities through economic development.
During the meeting, the minister also presented a collaboration with the Ministry of Cooperatives through the Red and White Village Cooperative program.
“In cooperation with the Ministry of Cooperatives, we are implementing the Red and White Village Cooperative program, where we also train local affiliates in each cooperative to market creative products from their villages,” Teuku Riefky explained.
On the same day, Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Abdul Muhaimin Iskandar chaired a ministerial-level meeting to discuss empowering communities in the fifth decile of the National Socio-Economic Single Data (DTSEN), or upper middle-class groups.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Maman Abdurrahman, Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya, Head of Statistics Indonesia Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, Deputy Minister of P2MI Christina Aryani, Deputy Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Joko Yuliantono, and Deputy Minister of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration Riza Patria.
