Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Social Affairs will soon establish a Task Force for the People's School Operational Control, tasked with responding quickly and appropriately to various issues that arise in People's Schools.

"This task force will be formed soon. The proposed nomenclature is the People's School Operational Control Task Force," said Deputy Minister of Social Affairs Agus Jabo Priyono while leading a meeting to establish the task force in Jakarta on Wednesday.

The People's School Operational Control Task Force will focus on the supervision and control aspects of the People's School program, which is currently operating at 100 locations.

The task force has four main responsibilities: controlling the implementation of the People's School program, resolving technical obstacles in the field, overseeing financial aspects of facilities and infrastructure, and human resources (HR).

"After nearly a month of operation (of the People's School), we are still encountering problems in the learning process. We must transform quantitative success into qualitative success by building a better system in each People's School," he said.

Obstacles identified in the field include a report from the Principal of Junior High People's School 10 in Bogor regarding the problem of the physical and mental age gap between children, including 10 children who cannot read or write yet, so they need special teacher support and consultation with a psychologist.

The Principal of Senior High People's School 9 in East Jakarta reported the obstacles in the form of incomplete infrastructure and the need for data integration through the Basic Education Data system.

"This task force will monitor and address all emergency situations related to learning and the welfare of education personnel," he said.

He emphasized the need to build a system that guarantees the continuity of the teaching and learning process with three main pillars: adequate facilities and infrastructure, quality and loyal human resources, and a stable budget.

The system is intended to monitor the journey of the pioneering People's School before entering the permanent school stage, which has a larger and more complex scope.

Since opening on July 14, 2025, 100 pilot People's Schools have been established, and this number will increase to 165 schools by September.

President Prabowo Subianto expressed his pride in this achievement as proof of the ability of his cabinet to work together to eradicate poverty through education.
