“We’re still discussing the alternative route,” Lena told ANTARA in a text message.
He was responding to questions on the provincial government’s readiness to ensure the success of the international cycling event, scheduled to begin Wednesday, September 10.
Precautionary measures are also being taken in several Flores Island districts, including Sikka, Ende and Ngada, which face landslide risks, he said.
Lena stressed the event would cover all 10 planned stages despite potential natural disasters.

He said organizers had carried out disaster-response simulations, including for volcanic eruptions and landslides along the race route.
The Tour de Entete will span 1,500 kilometers across three major NTT islands: Timor, Sumba and Flores, from East Flores to Labuan Bajo.
The governor added that local governments along the route have prepared cultural performances and economic showcases involving small businesses.
The race will run from September 10-21, starting in Kupang and moving to North Central Timor and Belu Districts on Timor Island.
From the Indonesia-Timor border, riders will continue to Soe City in North Central Timor before returning to Kupang.
From Kupang, racers will sail to Waingapu in East Sumba and continue to Tambolaka in West Sumba.
They will then fly to East Flores, racing from Larantuka to the finish line in Labuan Bajo.
