Juliantono previously served as deputy minister and is well known for his long-standing involvement in cooperative organizations.
Since 2019, he has been deputy chair of the Indonesian Cooperative Council (Dekopin) and, since 2018, secretary of the board of the Village Unit Cooperatives (Induk KUD).
He also chairs the supervisory board of Inkopontren, the Islamic Boarding School Cooperative, leads the Padjadjaran University Alumni Association, and serves as secretary-general of the central board of Syarikat Islam.
Juliantono currently sits on the board of commissioners at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga, a commercial and trading subholding of state-owned oil and gas company Pertamina.
His past leadership roles include chair of the supervisory board of the Indonesian Market Traders Association (APPSI) from 2019 to 2022, chair of the Market Traders Cooperative (Inkopppas) during the same period, and head of the Indonesian Coal Suppliers Association (Aspebindo) from 2010 to 2022.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Padjadjaran University (1993), a master’s in international political economy from the University of Indonesia (2006), and a doctorate in sociology from the same university (2015).
Juliantono began his political career in 2010 with the Democratic Party before joining Gerindra, where he currently serves as deputy chairman for mass mobilization.
He has authored three books and received several honors, including representing Indonesian labor unions at the 2001 International Labour Organization (ILO) Conference in Geneva and being named one of the “100 Indonesian Cooperative Figures” by Irsyad Muchtar.
