"Kadin certainly supports President Prabowo Subianto's cabinet reshuffle because it is aimed at ensuring all strategic government programs can be realized"Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Chair of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) for Regional Autonomy, Sarman Simanjorang, expressed hope that the new Finance Minister, Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, can continue his predecessor's policies while conducting ongoing evaluations.
"Businesses hope that the new finance minister can continue various policies of Finance Minister Sri Mulyani while conducting evaluations for various policies and management from all sides," he remarked in a statement here on Tuesday.
These, Simanjorang said, include budgeting, taxation, customs, treasury, and fiscal management to maintain the stability of the state's economy and finance, including in managing state cash and debt.
He believes more accurate financial management will accelerate the government's strategic programs and boost national economic growth.
"Kadin certainly supports President Prabowo Subianto's cabinet reshuffle because it is aimed at ensuring all strategic government programs can be realized," he affirmed.
He also said that the new finance minister's capabilities and breakthroughs are highly anticipated, especially amid current economic conditions and global uncertainty.
Earlier on Monday, President Prabowo inaugurated new officials of the Red and White Cabinet at the State Palace, Jakarta. Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa was among the officials inaugurated, replacing Sri Mulyani Indrawati as finance minister.
The inauguration was conducted based on Presidential Decree Number 86P 2025 concerning the Dismissal and Appointment of Ministers and Deputy Ministers of the Red and White Cabinet for the 2024-2029 period.
Following his inauguration, Sadewa affirmed that he would enhance the existing fiscal policies rather than completely change those set by his predecessor.
“We will optimize the existing systems. New leaders often change everything and create new ones just to leave their mark. I won’t take that approach,” he said during a press conference at the office of the Finance Ministry in Jakarta on Monday.
