The meeting took place at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta. Abdullah said he shared his views on strengthening synergy between fiscal and monetary policies.
"We talked about a wide range of topics, from fiscal, monetary, and even downstreaming," Abdullah told reporters after the meeting.
Regarding the cabinet reshuffle — which replaced Sri Mulyani Indrawati with Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa as finance minister — Abdullah said the change was necessary and timely. He did not elaborate but stressed the importance of maintaining policy continuity to accelerate economic momentum.
"There were no new or specific policies discussed, the emphasis was more on implementation," he noted.
On the issue of burden sharing between the government and the central bank, Abdullah said it was not discussed in detail. However, he underlined the need for stronger coordination to ensure clear policy directions.
"It must be clear how monetary policy should move, how the banking sector should run, and what fiscal strategies are appropriate, so the economy can turn faster," he said.
The talks also covered liquidity and money circulation. Abdullah noted that Indonesia's money supply remains relatively tight, suggesting a review of policies to allow more relaxed development financing.
"This would help speed up development and economic cycles," he added.
