The initiative was announced by Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin during the signing of a Joint Ministerial Decree in Jakarta on Tuesday, covering the implementation of healthcare licensing through the National Digital Public Services Mall (MPPDN).
Sadikin said the program ensures the continuity of healthcare services nationwide, especially in regions without a physical Public Services Mall (MPP).
"Automation makes the licensing process faster, more transparent, auditable, and traceable, which prevents illegal licensing practices," he said.
To obtain a license through the MPPDN, healthcare professionals need only submit their registration letter and proof of training completion.
"There have been 46,000 training sessions over the past year, organized by 418 institutions and attended by 1.5 million healthcare professionals," Sadikin noted.
The digital licensing process takes a maximum of five days.
According to Sadikin, Indonesia has 1.8 million healthcare workers, but not all regions have an MPP that can handle license registration and issuance.
The MPPDN system is a collaboration between the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of State Apparatus Utilization and Bureaucratic Reform, the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs, the Ministry of Home Affairs, and the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN).
Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria said digitalization is not only about bureaucratic efficiency but also about improving public services.
"Public services are now more transparent because people can monitor the status of their applications in real-time," he said.
Patria added that the process is now faster due to standardized digital documents, guaranteed legality with electronic signatures, and uniform procedures across regions.
