Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Legislative Body (Baleg) of the House of Representatives (DPR) has proposed that the Asset Confiscation Bill be included in the 2025 Priority National Legislation Program (Prolegnas).

Chairman of Baleg, Bob Hasan, stated that the Asset Confiscation Bill has now been proposed as a DPR initiative. Previously, it was listed in the 2024–2029 Medium-Term Prolegnas as a government initiative.

“So, the Asset Confiscation Bill is no longer being debated by the government but by the DPR. It will be included in the 2025 Prolegnas,” Hasan said while opening a meeting to evaluate the DPR Prolegnas with the government at the parliamentary complex in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Baleg also proposed that the Bills on the Chambers of Commerce and Industry and on Industrial Estates be included in the 2025 Priority Prolegnas.

In addition, Hasan explained that DPR Baleg has received 10 proposals for inclusion in the 2025–2029 Medium-Term Prolegnas.

These include the Bills on Industrial Zones, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Online Transportation, Patriot Bonds, the Indonesian National Police, and Amendments to the Personal Data Protection Law.

Other proposals include the Bills on One Data Indonesia, Indonesian Freelance Workers, Indonesian Platform Workers, and Regionally-Owned Enterprises.

“We expect responses from the government and the Regional Representative Council (DPD). Of course, there will be many responses and views,” Hasan said.

The Prolegnas evaluation meeting was attended by Baleg leaders, representatives from all political party factions, Minister of Law Supratman Andi Agtas, and representatives from the DPD’s Law Planning Committee (PPUU).
