The programs include the Impactful Leading Research Consortium Program (RIKUB), the Impactful Student Program: Community Empowerment by the Student Executive Board (BEM), the Community Service Program for the Region-Based Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Scheme, and the Batch III Community Service Program for the Community-Based Empowerment Scheme.
Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto stated in Jakarta on Thursday that he hopes the research can continue to be maintained, as there is a lot of excellent research that can promote downstream.
Yuliarto stated that the research funding demonstrates the government's commitment to continuously maximizing the quality of research in Indonesia.
He emphasized the importance of universities' role as the vanguard in providing solutions to national problems, one of which is through waste management research.
If the results of waste management research are implemented across campuses, Yuliarto continued, universities will not only be able to manage their own waste but also contribute to environmental management, which benefits the community.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Research and Development of the ministry, Fauzan Adziman, explained that the RIKUB Program received an allocation of Rp45.4 billion to fund 82 proposals, while the Impactful Student Program received Rp30.1 billion in funding for 263 proposals.
Furthermore, in the area of community service, the Region-Based Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Scheme received funding of Rp13.7 billion for 101 proposals from 67 universities.
In addition, the Community Service Program, Batch III of the Community-Based Empowerment Scheme, received funding of Rp34.7 billion, supporting 948 proposals from 434 universities.
"Through these programs, we hope that research and innovation can develop significantly and directly address community needs," Adziman said.
