In a statement cited in Jakarta on Friday, BGN Deputy for Monitoring and Supervision Dadang Hendrayudha underscored the importance of SPPGs adhering to standard operating procedures.
He highlighted standards covering kitchen hygiene, raw material selection, cooking, and distribution.
"The supervision of SPPGs reflects our commitment to ensuring that all meals served meet safety and nutritional standards," Hendrayudha said.
He reiterated that strict and continuous monitoring is essential to ensure the national priority program delivers tangible benefits to the public.
To demonstrate BGN's commitment, Hendrayudha conducted firsthand inspections of several MBG kitchens in the districts of Wonogiri, Boyolali, and Sukoharjo in Central Java on Wednesday (September 10).
In addition to assessing infrastructure adequacy, the BGN deputy engaged in dialogues with SPPG heads, nutritionists, and accountants assisting at the kitchens.
He inquired about the challenges they face, their achievements, and their needs for BGN follow-up and evaluation, which are crucial for the program’s sustainability.
"We hope SPPGs will continue improving the quality of their services to make the MBG program a success," Hendrayudha affirmed.
Launched on January 6 this year, the MBG program aims to improve nutritional intake among targeted groups, including schoolchildren, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers.
President Prabowo Subianto has noted that as of August 25, the program had reached over 21 million recipients nationwide, with support from thousands of SPPGs built not only by the BGN but also other institutions, including the National Police (Polri).
The government has consistently stated that MBG is envisioned as a pathway to create a golden generation of quality human resources for a better future of the nation.
