The presidential plane carrying President Prabowo landed in Bali from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on Saturday morning.
Prabowo's arrival in Bali was greeted by several officials, including Bali Governor I Wayan Koster, Commander of Indonesian Defense Forces (TNI) General Agus Subiyanto, Commander of the IX/Udayana Military Region (Pangdam) Major General Piek Budyakto, and Bali Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya.
During the welcoming ceremony at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Air Force Base, the President greeted each of the officials and immediately boarded to his Maung Garuda presidential car, accompanied by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
In Bali, the head of state is scheduled to review the impact of the flooding at Badung Market in Denpasar City, including the market basement area and the stalls that were submerged.
He will then tour the market area and meet with vendors and residents affected by the flooding.
His agenda continues by visiting evacuees at the Banjar Kesambi evacuation post in Kesiman, Denpasar City. He will also pay his respects at the home of one of the flood victims in Serangan, South Denpasar.
After completing his working visit to Denpasar, President Prabowo and his entourage will continue their journey to the Tampak Siring Palace in Gianyar District in the afternoon.
The wet hydrometeorological disaster occurred after Bali was drenched by more than 24 hours of heavy rain starting on Tuesday, September 9.
The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) reported that rainfall reached 385 millimeters, equivalent to a full month's accumulated rainfall.
On September 10, the Bali Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) recorded major flooding and landslides in 123 locations across seven districts/cities in Bali: Denpasar, Badung, Gianyar, Tabanan, Klungkung, Karangasem, and Jembrana.
As of Friday evening, the agency reported that the disaster claimed 17 lives and five people are still missing.
