The ministry's Director of Digital Government Applications, Yessi Arnaz Ferrari, said that the use of AI will assist in processing large amounts of data.
"The initial stage is developing a targeting algorithm. Once it's completed, AI will help process large amounts of data," he remarked in a statement on Friday.
"A simple implementation that is already underway is facial recognition to verify recipient identity," he continued.
According to Ferrari, the Perlinsos digitalization system will serve as the main gateway for data on prospective social assistance recipients, integrated with various government systems.
The digitalization system is supported by a "digital toll road" in the form of the Government Service Connector System (SPLP), developed to integrate applications and data between government agencies, he explained.
"The SPLP will connect data for more validity, standardization, and efficiency. With the SPLP, one hub is enough to connect various applications, resulting in more effective services," he continued.
The SPLP will be the main channel for data integration and exchange across ministries/agencies, he added.
He mentioned that this system will facilitate collaboration between ministries/agencies in implementing social protection programs.
According to him, an integrated system will support faster, more transparent, and more accountable data verification on government social assistance recipients.
"With an integrated system, we will not only accelerate distribution but also increase public trust. The government will ensure that the public data is used correctly," he assured.
He then emphasized the government's priority in personal data protection in the digitization of the Perlinsos service system.
The ministry is striving to ensure data security in three phases: during storage, during transmission, and during use.
"All stages are maintained with strict security standards and regulatory compliance," he emphasized.
Supported by SPLP, robust data governance, and AI, Perlinsos is expected to become a faster, more accurate, and more secure system.
