“There are also opportunities to provide digital literacy training for social aid organizers, data distributors, and fund managers. That is something we are planning to implement,” said Kemkomdigi Secretary General Ismail at the ministry’s office in Jakarta on Friday.
As part of the national social aid digitization program, the government has begun a limited trial at the village and sub-district levels in Banyuwangi District, starting Thursday, September 18.
Ahead of the trial, the government trained 167 Social Protection Agents (Perlinsos) drawn from the Family Hope Program (PKH) and Sub-district Social Welfare Workers (TKSK).
The agents received intensive training a week before the trial, which included lessons on using the Perlinsos portal, a digital system designed to register social aid services.
Through this training, Perlinsos agents are expected to assist prospective social aid recipients who are less familiar with digital systems so they can register and access assistance more effectively.
At the national level, the provision of digitally literate Perlinsos agents is expected to make the social aid distribution process more inclusive and accessible, even for communities with limited digital literacy.
Ismail explained that since the training program will be implemented nationwide, digital literacy sessions for Perlinsos agents will likely be conducted primarily online.
“Most of the digital literacy training for Perlinsos agents will be held online. It is more cost-efficient and effective that way,” Ismail added.
