Peace and harmony remain part of our national character. Any incidents that seem to disrupt this are isolated and should not be seen as representative of the overall situation,
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia has become an exemplary model of harmony in diversity for BRICS countries, according to the Secretary General of Indonesia's Religious Affairs Ministry, Kamaruddin Amin.

"When I attended a recent BRICS event in Brazil, many delegates spoke with Indonesia about our success in maintaining social harmony and stability. It is one of Indonesia's positive marks on the world stage," Amin stated here on Tuesday.

According to the ministry official, religious harmony is the nation’s strongest asset in maintaining national stability. In addition to being a source of national pride, it has also gained international recognition.

Amin said that Indonesia’s deeply rooted culture of harmony has been proven empirically, even amidst social dynamics and challenges over the years.

"Peace and harmony remain part of our national character. Any incidents that seem to disrupt this are isolated and should not be seen as representative of the overall situation," he noted.

He highlighted that Indonesia’s Harmony Index remains at an excellent level and that international confidence in the country’s political and social stability continues to be high.

He also expressed appreciation for the contributions of all sectors of society, including members of the media, in helping to preserve national harmony.

"Media colleagues have a significant—if not central—role in this. I encourage all parties to continue supporting Indonesia’s transformation across social, economic, political, and cultural spheres," Amin said.

Amin emphasized that collective harmony is a cornerstone of national progress. "That’s why we, together with other ministries and agencies, continue to synergize for the sake of harmony—because there can be no progress without peace," he concluded.
