Indonesia’s Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka visited a People’s School (Sekolah Rakyat) in Palembang, South Sumatra, on Thursday to inspect facilities and check on students’ comfort.
He was accompanied by South Sumatra Governor Herman Deru and his deputy Cik Ujang, along with Presidential Chief of Staff Muhammad Qodari.
“Vice President Gibran toured the school and asked the children if they were comfortable learning here,” Governor Deru said.
Gibran inspected classrooms, teacher offices, and dormitories to assess the learning environment. Qodari praised the school’s operations, noting students’ enthusiasm, skills, and nutrition.
“I have seen People's Schools several times. We are grateful it is running well. The students are bright and motivated, their nutrition is good, and they have aspirations and skills. What the president envisioned has been realized,” Qodari said.
Earlier, Gibran visited Banyuasin district for harvest celebrations before proceeding to People's School, Palembang’s 16 Ilir market, and the Palembang Junction toll road.
