Deputy Minister of Primary and Secondary Education Fajar Riza Ul Haq said the initiative is not only about enhancing competence but also about fostering a culture of sharing best practices, lifelong learning, and collective commitment to improving education quality.
He emphasized that the program reflects the mandate of the National Education System Law No. 20 of 2003, which stipulates that education can be pursued through formal, non-formal, and informal pathways.
According to him, training and courses hold a strategic role in meeting the rapidly evolving skill demands of the times.
“Through training and courses, vocational human resources can move faster, adapt more flexibly, and remain aligned with the needs of the labor market. This will ensure that human resource development becomes more targeted,” Fajar said at the program’s launch held at the ministry’s office in Jakarta on Monday, September 29, 2025.
He also expressed appreciation to local governments, educational institutions, businesses, partner organizations, and the wider community for their support in implementing the program.
Fajar hopes the instructors who take part in the training will bring direct benefits to educational institutions, students, and fellow instructors.
Director General of Vocational Education, Special Education, and Special Services at the ministry, Tatang Muttaqin, explained that the training is being conducted across 70 locations and covers eight areas of expertise.
These include graphic design, digital marketing, office applications, hairdressing, barista skills, conventional motor mechanics, electric motor mechanics, and fashion design.
“We hope this collective effort will bring greater benefits to the advancement of vocational education in Indonesia, while enhancing instructor capacity to achieve quality education for all,” Tatang said.
