Banda Aceh, Aceh (ANTARA) - Manpower Minister Yassierli is targeting 1 million people to be trained at the Vocational and Productivity Training Centers (BPVPS) of the Ministry of Manpower every year.

"One of the ways to prepare a skilled workforce is through vocational and productivity training," he said during the opening of a training program for people with disabilities at Banda Aceh BPVP in Banda Aceh, Aceh, on Thursday.

He explained that the BPVPs operated by his ministry have many training facilities as well as certification programs to prepare a skilled workforce and competent youth.

"My visit to the Banda Aceh BPVP is intended to ensure the training center is utilized maximally to train Aceh residents, helping them to have competencies and compete in the job market," he remarked.

According to him, the training programs offered at BPVPs must be adjusted to the developments of the job market to ensure the participants have the competencies that are relevant to today’s world.
