One of the key initiatives is the participation of the film Tegar, directed by Anggi Frisca, at the Silk Road International Film Festival held in Fuzhou, China, from September 22 to 26, 2025.
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya said that Tegar's participation in an international event is both a source of pride and clear proof that the film industry can become a new engine of economic growth.
"Through strengthening the creative ecosystem, Indonesian works not only entertain but also convey powerful messages to the world," he said.
Tegar tells the story of a child with physical disabilities striving to gain access to education.
Since its release in 2022, the film has been screened in 24 countries and has received multiple international awards, including the Best Young Actor Award at the 2024 China International Children’s Film Festival, the Satagaya Award in Japan, the Golden Butterfly Award and the CIFEJ Grand Prix Award in Iran, and the Spirit of Fire – Best Film in Russia.
Director and producer Anggi Frisca emphasized that Tegar carries a universal message about equality and equal opportunities for all children.
At the 2025 Silk Road International Film Festival, she also presented a collaborative Indonesia–China film project centered on dreams, technology, and friendship, symbolized by the Jakarta–Bandung High-Speed Railway.
The success of Tegar has paved the way for its sequel, Teman Tegar: Maira (Whisper from Papua), which explores themes of friendship, courage, and environmental preservation in Papua. The film is scheduled for release at the end of 2025.
Through these works, Aksa Bumi Langit, as a Movie Laboratory Ecosystem established in 2014, continues to promote the development of intellectual property (IP)-based films, expanding their reach beyond cinema into music, books, and merchandise.
