"I am very proud of the works by Indonesian animated film creators," he said at the screening of the film in Jakarta on Thursday.
He further said that animated films have enormous potential to become one of Indonesia's leading exports.
"We believe that Indonesian animated films can become one of Indonesia's leading exports and bring a good image of Indonesia to the international arena," the minister added.
The film's producer Anggia Kharisma informed that more than 400 visual animation artists were involved in creating quality characters and animations to make them interesting.
A number of Indonesian singers, including Ariel Noah, Bunga Citra Lestari, and Cinta Laura Kiehl, also gave voice to the characters in the film.
They were all very enthusiastic about the launch of Jumbo and expected the animated film to be successful, both in Indonesia and abroad. The film will be screened in 17 countries globally.
Produced by Visinema Studios, Jumbo follows the story of a chubby boy named Don as he embarks on an adventure to look for a stolen book written by his late parents.
During this Eid holiday, Jumbo aims to take audiences on a journey that explores the meaning of family, self-confidence, friendship, and courage to fight bullying.
