Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Creative Economy has highlighted the importance of cybersecurity and safe digital spaces to accelerate the growth of the creative economy.

To support this, the ministry is supporting the National Cybersecurity Connect (NCC) 2025, scheduled for October 29-30 in Jakarta.

According to the ministry's press release received here on Friday, the national cybersecurity collaboration forum is initiated by several organizations including the National ICT Entrepreneurs Association (APTIKNAS) and the Indonesian Association for Digitalization and Cybersecurity (ADIGSI).

As a strategic platform that brings together government, industry, communities, and the younger digital generation, NCC is seen as instrumental in strengthening national cyber resilience.

"NCC's primary goal is to enhance Indonesia's cybersecurity system," Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky Harsya said.

He added, "We are ready to collaborate and ensure NCC 2025 and its planning process receive optimal support."

Cybersecurity is a vital element in developing and increasing the competitiveness of creative economy businesses, which significantly utilize digital technology and platforms.

Investment in the digital app sector is also significant. According to data from the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), investment in this subsector is projected to reach Rp15.49 trillion or around US$934.2 million in 2025.

"Digital transformation is not merely adaptation, but a part of national economic evolution that starts from the regions," Harsya said.

He also called for updating Indonesia's Standard Industrial Classification (KBLI) to include emerging sectors such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, blockchain, and the Internet of Things.

"Rapid economic growth must be balanced with cybersecurity readiness and strength. Technology developed by the nation's own talents must be facilitated and enhanced," he said.

NCC 2025, themed "Building Data Security Readiness Towards Economic Resilience," will feature conferences, exhibitions, workshops, and a networking and collaboration hub.
