Jakarta (ANTARA) - Jakarta Deputy Governor Rano Karno said that "Choose Jakarta 2025 – Goes to Paris" is a strategic effort to showcase the creativity and global competitiveness of Jakarta's youth and micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

The event, held at Galerie Joseph in Paris from October 8 to 11, serves as an integrated promotional platform initiated by the Jakarta provincial government to highlight the capital's creative economy and international collaboration potential.

Rano encouraged MSMEs to confidently enter global markets while reaffirming Jakarta’s identity as a creative, resilient, and competitive city.

The initiative forms part of Jakarta's broader efforts to introduce its new image as a modern, inclusive, and globally connected metropolis through trade, tourism, and creative economy promotion.

It also serves as a platform for economic and cultural diplomacy between Jakarta and Paris, emphasizing an exchange of ideas, lifestyles, and creative values.

More than 20 curated entrepreneurs from the fashion, culinary, and craft industries participated, showcasing products that represent Jakarta's creative spirit to an international audience.

The program featured exhibitions, business forums, matchmaking sessions, thematic talk shows, trunk shows, and Betawi cultural performances, strengthening ties between the two cities.

Through this event, Jakarta expands its global outreach and market access for MSMEs that have undergone mentoring and curation according to international standards.

Rano said Jakarta aims to project creativity from Indonesia's National Monument (Monas) to the Eiffel Tower, reflecting a city that is both globally oriented and culturally rooted.

"This is the new face of Jakarta — a global city deeply rooted in culture and open to opportunities for all, including MSMEs and young entrepreneurs," he said.
